I really love when a nursery shows little snippets of who the parent(s) are and what they value – and what they hope their child will love, too. For us? That was vintage (did you know that I had a vintage shop in a past life), bright colors, wooden toys, and tons of books. Once I found a giant – and I mean GIANT, this thing is about 4 feet high – vintage letter E from an old sign, I knew I had to plan Everett’s nursery around that. Baby George’s nursery was a celebration of travel and exploration in his Adventure Themed Nursery.
Adventure Themed Nursery
What is the theme of your nursery?
I wanted to make it adventurous while also not sticking to one theme! My hope is that he grows up with a sense of wonder about the world and an eagerness to travel and learn. Hence the sailboats, airplanes, globe, and safari animals!
What was the inspiration for your nursery design?
Did you include any sentimental items in your nursery, or items from your childhood? If so, please share their story!
What is the most used item in your nursery? What item would you recommend for first time parents?
Did you experience any challenges with your nursery design?
Is there anything else you’d like to share about your nursery?
Any final tips or advice?
Don’t feel like you have to be tied down to one theme…add things that have meaning to you and that you love to make the space feel personal!

I hope George’s nursery & tips are helpful as you prepare your baby’s nursery! Photographing your baby at home is so special – I’ll never forget bringing my son home and how our house suddenly felt more alive than ever. We’ve since moved, but it holds such a special place in my heart because it’s the first place I became a mother.
