As much as I love my Philadelphia newborn photography studio space, it’s always nice to get out of the comfort of my normal shooting environment and shoot somewhere different. Baby Aayan was several weeks old when we photographed his newborn session and he loved being wrapped up. If you’ve been following my work, you’ll know that I can’t resist a good macro shot – give me some eyelashes, those little tufts of hair, tiny fingers…I love it all. As a Philadelphia newborn photographer, being able to preserve such a fleeting time for parents (it feels like yesterday that I held my 5 year old in a baby sling!) with the tiniest parts of their new family member brings me so much joy.
Believe it or not, we shot all of Aayan’s newborn session in the nursery! Some thoughtful positioning and shifting a chair or two allowed us for a ton of variety in their images, despite working within a small room. For families that want an in-home session but are afraid of the post-newborn clutter (remember all of that equipment and empty water bottles and pump supplies that covered the coffee table? just me?), all we need is a room to cuddle up in and we’re good to go! As a Mainline newborn photographer, I never want my families to be stressed out about scouring the house before their in home newborn session. With some pretty light and lots of love, there’s not much else that you need.
