An old, very sweet friend – Carina of Love Me Do Photography – was kind enough to invite me along to shoot a styled shoot with her organized by House of Catherine. It took place in the beautiful Powell House in Society Hill, Philadelphia, right next to Old City. I’ve seen lots of beautiful weddings at their neighboring venue – the Hill-Physick House – but never an event at Powell. Bryan and I love historic homes (the newest home we’ve ever lived in was built in 1922, if that gives you some context!) and I was super eager to see the inside. It certainly didn’t disappoint!
The second floor of the house is where we spent most of our time, and where the tablescape was set up. The room in the front of the house was the largest, with a beautiful fireplace, chandelier, huge windows, and small piano. A small room sat in the middle of the floor, and the back of the house sat the most amazing (and what felt slightly haunted) master bedroom.
Angela of Park Ave Cake made a white, three tiered cake and these INSANE macarons. I’m a bit of a hobby baker and definitely appreciate a good dessert, and these macarons were one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. Meghan of House of Catherine did the design and florals, while Natalia Rosen did the content creation. Admittedly, I’m a big fan of neutrals (my house is various shades of white…and more white) but the blue and green and gold gave me some major inspiration for integrating a little color into my shelves at home. Courtney of The Geisha House provided the wardrobe, Lindsay of Sticks and Stones Bridal provided the accessories, and Sydney of Coffee Stained Lace rocked it all. Emily Dimant (who I’ve just started following on Instagram and gives me some major inspiration for getting my makeup act together) did makeup and Alison Scott did hair.
