Going out to eat with the family? You’ll love this list of Philadelphia restaurants – all are kid friendly but don’t sacrifice good food or ambiance. When my kids were little – and especially in the winter – we went out to eat just to get out of the house and for a change of scenery…everywhere from the local pizza place to something more special for a celebration. There are so many Philadelphia restaurants that are perfect for a date night or special occasion, but sometimes ya just need an easy, casual place to take the kids. Here are some of my favorites!
Table of Contents
Dock Street Brewery
2118 Washington Avenue Philadelphia, PA 19146
We used to hang at Dock Street Brewery when they were in West Philadelphia (now closed!) pre kids, but now love that they have a South Philly location! A laid back, chill place to hang for a meal, Dock Street is one of the Philadelphia restaurants that makes it easy to bring your kids out to eat. With high chairs, coloring pages and crayons, and a kid’s menu, it’s definitely high up there on the kid friendly list. There are lots of events that are hosted by the brewery, so make sure you check out their calendar before you go. One thing to note – Dock Street is kid-free after 8pm, so make sure you’re planning to visit before then.
Pizzeria Stella
420 S 2nd St, Philadelphia, PA 19147
My kids love sitting near a window, overlooking the sidewalk. Like their mama, they’re both people-watchers. If your kids are the same, Pizzeria Stella is a great option as you consider Philadelphia restaurants for kids. Seating, service, and food is quick, and there is seating outdoors if that’s more your speed. There are pizza options that are good for the non-adventurous crowd (read: plain) and some gourmet options that will please the parent palette. End dinner with gelato or sorbet!

Honey’s Sit ‘n Eat
800 N 4th St, Philadelphia, PA 19123
Honey’s has been a favorite in our household for years. Be prepared for a wait, but if your kids wake at the crack of dawn like mine, you’ll have better luck at snagging a spot. The inside of the restaurant is super cozy with lots to look at, and there are high chairs for little people. They serve up all of the standard breakfast fare with some fun additions like a breakfast bomb, along with brunch boxes and bakery items.
Middle Child Clubhouse
1232 N Front St, Philadelphia, PA 19122
Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinks – what else could you ask for? Sandwiches are the main event for breakfast and lunch, with entree style meals for dinner. There is casual counter service during the day, which is great for little ones. They also have super cool merch!
Craft Hall
901 N Delaware Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19123
It’s hard to think about making a list of Philadelphia restaurants for dining out with kids without adding Craft Hall to the list. It has a playset inside, for Pete’s sake! There is also pool, arcade games, board games galore, and shuffleboard. The menu is casual, with salads and sandwiches, and a kid’s menu with all of the regulars. Kids are welcome until 9pm, but even before then, the bar is situated away from the play area.
