Longwood Gardens is a year round option – winter through fall, there’s always something beautiful around the gardens.
I’ve lived in Pennsylvania all of my life and while I love it here and never see myself leaving, our winter months can be ROUGH if you’re hoping for an outdoor session. Lucky for us, a Longwood Gardens maternity session even in the middle of our cold, damp, bleh winters can still be absolutely stunning. With all sorts of architectural details and evergreen trees, you won’t miss the blooms that come with spring and summer. Even though the indoor part of the gardens isn’t an option for portraits, you truly don’t miss it; there is so much outdoors that you’ll forget it was even there! Plus…the fountains. Squint and you’re in Rome, am I right?
Make a day out of it – enjoy lunch or a walk around downtown Kennett Square.
Longwood Gardens has plenty of food options; from the wood fired pizzas to their fine dining at 1906, you’ll find plenty of options for some snacks & drinks after your session. If you’re lucky enough, you’ll even spot the ice cream trucks that are scattered throughout the gardens, and you will definitely not want to miss those ice cream sandwiches! Kennett Square is a great place to walk around, window shop, and stop for lunch or dinner.
A Longwood Gardens maternity session means you’re always nearby the restroom – need I say more?
If you want the convenience of a restroom during your Longwood Gardens maternity session, boyyyyyyy is this the place for you. They are scattered throughout the gardens so there’s no need to worry if there’s a gas station or Wawa nearby – they’ve got you covered! Not only is the restroom nearby, but there is easy parking and it’s a very easy walk around the gardens – no hiking or traversing around.
