Pregnancy is a long 40 weeks and having a baby shower to look forward to really helps to get you through it! If your guest list is long or you’d like to have the shower hosted outside of the home, finding the perfect baby shower venues in Philadelphia can be a time consuming part of the process. And if you’re on the hunt? Well, this is the post for you! The number of options can be overwhelming, but I’ve got a list of spots that are well-loved and fit a variety of vibes.
Table of Contents
Baby showers are such an exciting and special event to plan. Everyone is anxiously awaiting the arrival of your little one and you deserve to be celebrated as a parent-to-be. There are lots of decisions to make when planning, though, such as: Who to invite? Where will it be held? What food should be served? What about favors?
One of the first decisions needs to be where the baby shower will be held. While some choose to do so in their own homes, many do not have the space to accommodate the entire guest list. If you’ve decided to rent a space somewhere, it can be a tedious search to find the perfect spot that both the host and honoree like, but there are plenty of options out there.
Here are my 5 picks for baby shower venues in Philadelphia to help you narrow it down. I’ve also included several spots in the PA suburbs if that is more convenient for you.
For Historic Charm: Morris House Hotel
Morris House Hotel is a beautiful boutique hotel built in 1787. It’s nestled in Philly’s Historic District and is actually a designated National Historic Landmark. You can host an outdoor baby shower in the formal garden courtyard or indoors in the Morris House Library or Garden Building.
For a Garden Party: Terrain
At each Terrain location, a “picturesque, garden-centric setting is paired with menus inspired by local growers.” Its nature-inspired aesthetic serves as a seriously gorgeous backdrop to your event. Terrain has three locations to choose from: Glen Mills, Devon, and Doylestown.
For Tea Time: The Painted Tea Cup
The Painted Tea Cup is a quaint spot in Upper Darby that serves a wide selection of teas, sandwiches, and desserts. It’s cozy, tranquil, and very cute. This is a great option for a smaller baby shower of 20-25 people (you can choose from 2 different rooms).
For an Intimate Venue: Blue Heron
Blue Heron is the intimate venue behind hostess & events extraordinaire Krista Jones; with an assortment of china and linens to style your baby shower to the nines and a beautifully decorated space in the heart of Malvern, PA, it’s the perfect spot for a baby shower (I actually held my sister’s baby shower here!).
For a Fun, Co-Ed Shower: Yards Brewing
Co-ed baby showers are becoming more and more popular. After all, why not celebrate both parents-to-be? If you want something different from the more traditional shower venue, and you enjoy craft beer, try Yards Brewing in Northern Liberties. Its ‘Garage’ room fits up to 55 people cocktail style, with pool tables, darts, and a TV. It’s perfect for a laid-back and fun gathering.
For Farm-to-Table Goodness: White Dog Cafe
White Dog Cafe has locations in University City, Haverford, Wayne, and Glen Mills, as well as a Chester Springs location opening in Spring 2024. Their rooms vary depending on the location, but all locations have the option for hosting a private event. No matter which you choose, you’ll be sure to enjoy the locally-inspired menu items that White Dog Cafe is known for.
I hope this list helps you narrow down your search for baby shower venues in Philadelphia. Whichever you choose, don’t forget to relax, have fun, and remember the extra special reason you are there to celebrate!
